Do I still need to attend an activity at the centre during inclement weather?

What is your cancellation and refund policy?
In the event of activity cancellation by HKSSA, for example, due to bad weather, COVID-19 government-mandated closures or other reasons, participants are entitled to a full refund.
For details about arrangements due to bad weather, please click here.
If participants withdraw due to individual reasons, for example, if the participant does not fulfil the lowest entry requirements, no refund will be offered. However, if participants withdraw due to sick leaves with a medical certificate from a doctor, a refund can be organised.

What should I bring to trainings or activities?
You should bring along the following items:

a bottle of water
-
money for buying lunch or bring your own lunch

a padlock for a locker

your water sports clothes, such as a swimsuit or swimming trunks, a wind jacket, gloves

a spectacles band (if needed)

a sun cap and sunblock
-
light and breathable long-sleeved clothes
- one full set of dry clothes, shoes and socks for changing

soap, shampoo and a bath towel for showering
When going afloat, you must wear a pair of toe and heel-protected rubber shoes. Slippers or sandals which provide no protection are NOT allowed.
Buoyancy aids, water-proof whistles and helmets are provided by the centre.
What is the training or activity time?
Please arrive at the Tai Mei Tuk Hong Kong Schools Sailing Association Building at 9:00 am on the day of the event.
9:00 – 12:00 Morning Session
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch Break
1:00 – 5:00 Afternoon Session
How do I go to the HKSSA Water Sports Centre?
Our address is Main Dam, Plover Cove Reservoir, Tai Mei Tuk, Tai Po, NT. It is next to the tuck shop at the BBQ site on the waterfront.
Take Green Minibus 20C from Tai Po Market MTR Station and alight at the last stop, the minibus terminal.
Alternatively, take Bus 75K at Tai Po Market Bus Terminal and alight at the last stop, Tai Mei Tuk bus terminal.
Will I receive a certificate on completion of my training?
Upon completion and passing the assessments of your training course, you may apply, on your own expense, for HKSF or HKCU’s certificates of the corresponding levels. Your instructor will provide further information on your first lesson.
How do I update my sailor profile details?
Go to: Account → Dashboard and click the Sailor Profile button (under your profile picture)
On completion, save changes at the bottom of the page.
