Are you ready to take your sailing skills to the next level? HKSSA’s partner The Plover Cove Sailing Club is thrilled to announce the Junior Optimist Squad Team Selection Day and training program! This is a unique opportunity for young, aspiring sailors to join an elite squad, refine their racing techniques, and represent our club at the prestigious HK Race Week 2025.

帆船會出賽代表- 選拔日 Selection Day: The First Step to Success

The journey begins with our Selection Day, where talented young sailors will showcase their skills and determination.

• Date: Saturday, 4 January 2025
• Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Location: HKSSA Tai Mei Tuk Training Centre
• Fee: $250 (includes equipment use, storage, and shower facilities)
• Eligibility Criteria:

1. Youth aged 8–12
2. Must have passed the HKSF Junior Sail 2 certification
3. Must be able to swim at least 50 meters in open water

During Selection Day, our professional coaches will evaluate participants’ sailing abilities and readiness to join the squad.

少年帆船公開比賽培訓計劃 Comprehensive Training Program
Selected participants will embark on a carefully designed training program to prepare for competitive sailing and HK Race Week.

第一階段 – 賽事培訓訓練日 Phase I: Race Training Sessions (5 Days)

These intensive training days will develop technical skills, racing strategies, and confidence on the water.

• Dates:
  11 January 2025 (Saturday)
  18 January 2025 (Saturday)
  25 January 2025 (Saturday)
  1 February 2025 (Saturday)
  8 February 2025 (Saturday)
• Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Fee: $3,000 (includes coaching, equipment, and facility use)

第二階段 – 代表出賽 Phase II: HK Race Week Preparation & Participation.

This phase focuses on final preparation and active participation in HK Race Week, one of the most exciting events on the youth sailing calendar.

1. Preparation Day: 9 February 2025 (Sunday)
   Race Days: 14–16 February 2025 (Friday to Sunday)
   Estimated Fee: ~$2,900 (covers race entry, coaching support, and logistics)
